Instructions

Pass the ball! Have your family and children’s friends sit in a circle on the floor. Find a song you all enjoy singing and sing that song while passing a ball from one person to another on the beat of the song. Make sure the beat stays steady and the ball isn’t passed too slowly or too quickly. Make sure nobody holds on to the ball. This game is a lot of fun. You can also use recordings of music that have a good steady beat instead of singing a song. Once you get really good at this game make it harder by selecting a leader who can randomly give the command “change”, at which point the ball changes direction in the circle without missing a beat! Play the same game with paper cups – with everyone sitting on the floor in a circle holding a paper cup in their right hand and tapping the floor on the beat. Once that is comfortable, play the paper cup game by PASSING the cup by tapping it on the floor in front of the person to your right. Loads of fun!
